DAVID W. GRIFFIN, MD, FACS, FAAOS

Dr. Griffin is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. His practice includes non-surgical and surgical options for the arthritic hip and knee, arthroscopic surgery, shoulder problems, fracture care, and all muscle, bone, and joint problems.

Dr. Griffin was born on March 19, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia. His undergraduate work was at Rhodes College in Memphis. The Medical College of Georgia awarded Dr. Griffin his medical degree in 1973. Dr. Griffin began his surgical internship at Letterman Hospital in San Francisco. After internship he served as a Flight Surgeon in the Army at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii for two years. He finished his general surgical residency at the City of Memphis Hospital and completed his orthopaedic residency at the Orthopaedic Training Program-Campbell Clinic Memphis.

He moved to Vero Beach in 1980 with his family and worked at an orthopaedic group until 1999. He then left the group to pursue his vision of an orthopaedic practice. He founded the Orthopaedic Center of Vero Beach so he could offer patients the surgical skills of a renowned orthopaedist with the personal touch of a smaller practice.

He was instrumental in developing the Joint Implant Center of the Treasure Coast at Indian River Memorial Hospital and served as director for more than ten years. Other affiliations include the Treasure Coast Rehabilitation Hospital and Grove Place Surgery Center. Dr. Griffin has performed surgery and taught throughout Europe. Surgeons from around the world have come to train with Dr. Griffin in Vero Beach and have learned from his extensive surgical experience for new and existing technologies. He is currently a clinical investigator for new prostheses development and other orthopaedic research projects.

Dr. Griffin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His professional affiliations also include the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the Florida Orthopaedic Society.


RICHARD STEINFELD, MD, FAAOS

Dr. Steinfeld is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. His orthopaedic practice includes sports injuries, hip, knee, and shoulder reconstruction, general orthopaedics (including foot/ankle and hand surgery), as well as fracture care.

Dr. Steinfeld was born on February 5, 1966. His education and training have been unique and extensive. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison receiving a degree in Psychology. He was awarded his Medical Degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - The New Jersey Medical School in 1992.

Dr. Steinfeld completed his internship in General Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After US Naval Flight Training at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute, he spent three years as Flight Surgeon and Head of Aviation Medicine at Naval Air Station Key West. Dr. Steinteld returned to the Mayo Clinic and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. He was then
chosen to undertake a Clinical Fellowship in Knee Surgery with John Bartlett, MD, in Melbourne, Australia finishing in June 2001.

His military honors include the US Navy Achievement Medal for Heroic Achievement (1994), runner-up for the 1995 NAVAIRLANT Flight Surgeon of the Year, and the US Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service (1996). Academic Honors include the Mark B. Coventry Clinical Research Award and numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals.

MARCUS J. MALONE, MD

Dr. Malone specializes in Physical Medicine, Rehabilitaion and Pain Management.

Dr. Malone was born on June 16, 1970.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.  St. Matthew’s University awarded Dr. Malone his Medical Degree in 2002.  He was also awarded a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration from St. Joseph College.  Dr. Malone began his internship training at the University of Virginia in Family Medicine in 2003.  Dr. Malone completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois.

With his training focused on acute and chronic pain management, Dr. Malone treats patients with disabilities and neurological impairments.  He joined the Orthopaedic Center of Vero Beach in September of 2007 to add a vital non-surgical approach to back pain and other musculoskeletal dysfunctions.   

Dr. Malone is Board Eligible for the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,
and an associate of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
